The Northeast Bamboo Conclave 2025, held on 18 September 2025 at Radisson Blu, Guwahati, was organized by NECBDC to promote investment, CSR partnerships, and the bio-economy through bamboo. Over 350 participants attended, including policymakers, industry leaders, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs from across India.
The event featured an inaugural session led by Shri. M.C Omi Ningshen, IRS, Managing Director, NECBDC and a keynote address by Shri. Satinder Kumar Bhalla, ITS, Secretary, NEC. Technical session and panel discussion focused on innovation, financing, MSME strengthening, and bamboo’s role in sustainable industrial growth.
Four MoUs were signed with IIT-Guwahati, NID, NRL, and SELCO Foundation to advance research, design, and renewable energy applications. A 21-stall exhibition showcased bamboo innovations from all eight Northeastern states.
Extensive digital and media outreach amplified the conclave’s reach nationwide. The event positioned NECBDC as the central facilitator for bamboo sector development and laid a roadmap for building a globally competitive bamboo value chain in the Northeast.
